Appearance in the show Die Grosse Chance Der Chöre

We wanted to introduce ourselves to our northern neighbors, so we chose to compete in the television show of the Austrian national television ORF »DIE GROSSE CHANCE DER CHÖRE«.

ORF Die Große Chance is a popular talent show in Austria, in which artists have an opportunity to present their different talents - this year the producers decided to invite choirs and vocal groups. Among a lot of other participants at the audition in Salzburg we managed to impress the judges and make it into the show. You can see our performance on our YouTube channel. You can also watch it on our website under the »Music« tab.

About the song Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, which was prepared especially for the occasion

With our participation in the show DIE GROSSE CHANCE DER CHÖRE, we wanted to introduce ourselves to the fans of gospel and a cappella music in Austria. A popular talent show, which this year attracted vocal groups and choirs, was perfect for our debut. One of the most important decisions we had to make was to pick the right song to present ourselves as an a capella gospel choir. We came to an agreement with the producers of the show to pick a popular song that was performed by many artists before us, but perhaps most famously by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. It is a love song but is also recognized, by many gospel artists, as a spiritual confession. When preparing our version the main idea was (because of the strong text) that it is a song that God sings to us, the people. »Ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough, ain’t no river wide enough« to keep us separated from God. The inclusion of parts »You’re All I Need To Get By« and »By And By« were deliberate. With the introduction and subsequent repetition of the song »You’re All I Need To Get By«, we made the entire song into a prayer. With the thought »You’re All I Need To Get By« we recommend ourselves to God, who responds that »there ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough, ain’t no river wide enough« to keep him from us. The traditional Negro Spiritual Song »By And By« talks about the joy of salvation and expresses Gods care for us.

Our version of the song Ain’t No Mountain High Enough expresses the thought that Paul wrote in his letter to the Romans (Romans 8.38 to 39): »For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.«
